Meet Elizabeth Dibler

Elizabeth Dibler grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and earned her degree in Criminal Justice and Accounting from the University of Central Missouri, where she also studied abroad at Imperial College in London. She went on to earn her law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where she continued her passion for advocacy as a member of the mock trial team.

For nearly 25 years, Liz has proudly called the 8th Judicial Subcircuit her home. During that time, she has dedicated her professional life to serving the community in the courtroom.

For more than 22 years, Liz has served in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. She has prosecuted over 60 felony jury trials, more than 20 misdemeanor jury trials, and hundreds of bench trials and motions. Her experience spans serious cases including murder, predatory criminal sexual assault, domestic battery, attempted murder, and DUIs. She also spent years in the domestic violence unit focusing on repeat offenders and felony domestic battery.

Liz’s leadership is evident in her service as a supervisor of a felony trial courtroom for seven years before becoming Supervisor of First Appearance Court, where she ensures fairness and accountability in the justice process.

Liz believes that fairness, integrity, and dignity must guide every courtroom. She is committed to listening to all voices and applying the law equally, ensuring that justice is not only done but also felt by those who come before her.

Beyond the Courtroom

Beyond the courtroom, Liz is a dedicated mom who raised her two sons in Chicago, both of whom attended Chicago Public Schools and spent their summers playing baseball at Hamlin Park. She gives back to the community through volunteering at a local food bank and mentoring the next generation of advocates by judging mock trial competitions at the high school and college level.
